2. Carrots

Keep the ends of carrots that you usually chop off and throw away. Put them in a shallow dish, cut side down. Add enough water so that half of the carrot top is submerged. Place the dish on a windowsill where it can get light. In the following days, the carrot tops will absorb the water on the dish so keep adding water as needed to keep them from drying out. The carrot tops will begin sprouting in a week or two.
